WEEK #7

I found Dave Edwards talk very helpful. I am a math b.s. major and am thinking of going into mathematical finance. He informed us on the math and econ major which made me think that maybe that is the path I want to be following. He was very helpful in describing the jobs that can come out of the major because they were never that clear to me. I am also interested in looking more into actuarial science.
Training an informed citizenry is to allow people in a society to be highly educated. This applies to mathematics because math is everywhere. People live on money. Money is managed from the basic mathematical principles. Math also helps physicists and scientists. It is a big part of the meidcal and engineering field as well. Without math, the world would not be as advanced as it is today.
